Belleville, IL. (2/14/22) Perpetually striving to provide platforms of spotlighting competitors, POWRi Quarter Midget Racing is excited to announce Corbin Rueschenberg as the Grand Marshall of the Inaugural Cactus Cup Nationals at Phoenix Raceway on February 16-19.
Calling Mesa, Arizona home and starting his racing career in 2015 at the ripe age of five years old, “The Bandit”, Corbin Rueschenberg would rapidly rise through the ranks of the quarter-midget world quickly accumulating over 165 victories while visiting just under forty various venues throughout the country.
“I’m honored and excited to be a part of the Cactus Cup, this really means a lot to be able to come back as Grand Marshall of such a big event,” said Corbin.
Adding “This isn’t something that you think about as a driver, I am grateful for the time I spent at Valley of the Sun QMA, and it will be nice to give back”.
Setting a trend of winning in multiple classes, Rueschenberg has notched feature wins with eight different car manufacturers throughout four separate forms of racing including Quarter Midget Asphalt, Kart Racing Asphalt, Quarter Midget Dirt, and Micro Sprint Dirt.
Sporting the Tact Clean Inc., Decon 7, Architerra Real Estate & Development, Radical Race Gear, MB2 Industries, AZ Best Garage Doors, #26 for JPU Motorsports, Corbin, now age 12, most recently tackled the Lucas Oil NOW600 National Series with outstanding results.
Earning runner-up in the NOW600 Restricted A-Class 2021 National Micro Points Championship, Corbin would end the year with five feature wins. Most notably placing inside the top-ten in twenty-two of the twenty-three feature starts on the season, and sixteen times Rueschenberg would place inside the top-five.
Planning to enter major micro shows across the country in 2022, Corbin remains ready for the bright future ahead noting “Right now I’m working on my off-track rituals and mental aspects of racing.” Setting his sights for the future, Roeschenberg awaits further opportunities in open-wheel racing with goals of National Midget and full-fledge 410 Sprint Car endeavors on the horizon.
