2021 Silver State Winter Nationals Update
Belleville, IL (10/06/2021) After the Pandemic forced local and state ordinances to outlaw the 2020 Silver State Winter Nationals many drivers and teams questioned whether the event would or even could take place in 2021. Thanks to the hard work and due diligence of the Officers of Good Times Quarter Midget Association, the Lucas Oil POWRi Quarter Midget Association is proud to announce the 2021 Silver State Winter Nationals have received the green flag for racing at the Orleans Arena.
The event will take place during the traditional Thanksgiving week at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Starting Sunday, November 21st, parking will begin for teams and vendors as all trailers are parked to maximize the space allotted for the event. On Monday, November 22nd, track crews will commence the building of the track while officials operate Car Safety Inspections and Sign-Ins.
Practice will start early on Tuesday, November 23rd as drivers and teams from all over attempt to dial in their setups for three days of competition. Starting off the competition on Wednesday will be a day of Heat Races for all classes and divisions with Thursday being reserved for Lower Mains all Thanksgiving Day. After two days of intense preliminary racing action the 2021 Silver State Winter Nationals will conclude on Friday, November 26th with a day of A-Main races. Saturday is currently scheduled as a Rain Date in the case of a November desert storm.
As of 10/05/2021, the car count is up to 131 Quarter Midgets signed in with historical numbers well over 300 Quarter Midgets in attendance. Teams looking to secure trackside parking and Group Rates at the Orleans Hotel should head over to the respective registration links as found on the Silver State Winter Nationals. Group Rates at the Orleans Hotel will end on October 23rd so be sure to register early.
A Racesgiving Dessert Bar Potluck will happen on Thanksgiving afternoon during the Lower Main Race Day. Pies, cakes, cookies, browniers, cobblers, cupcakes and everything dessert are welcomed whether they are homemade or store bought.
